Executive Board
Serving on the PTA Executive Board
The Banyan PTA Executive Board is a team of dedicated parent leaders who help guide our organization and ensure we fulfill our mission of supporting students, teachers, and our school community.
What does it mean to be on the Executive Board?
Decision-Making: Board members play a key role in planning, organizing, and making decisions that impact our school community.
Monthly Meetings: Attendance at monthly Executive Board meetings is required to discuss programs, budgets, and upcoming events.
Leadership & Oversight: Board members oversee at least one school event each year, serving as the event chair.
How to Join:
Executive Board positions open every school year. The nomination process begins in January, and voting takes place in March. Serving on the board is a rewarding way to make a lasting difference at Banyan while working alongside other passionate and committed parents.
If you’re ready to share your ideas, lead events, and help shape the future of our PTA, consider running for a position

Ashley Breems, President
I’m a mom of one kid at Banyan and one at Sequoia. My husband, Jacob, and I are originally from Moreno Valley. I work in the mental health field on the administration side of things. I am very passionate about expanding access to mental health services including Sport Psychology. I also care a lot about making sure our kids have access to enriching activities and experiences that go beyond what the district can provide. I am also committed to helping our teachers and parents feel seen, supported, and appreciated throughout the school year

Taylor Barron, VP
I’m a proud Banyan mom with children in 4th grade and Kindergarten. My family and I moved to the community five years ago and have loved being part of Banyan ever since. I joined the PTA because I wanted to find a meaningful way to get involved and give back to the community that has become such an important part of my family’s life. I want to help support Banyan’s students, teachers, and staff in any way that I can and I am excited to contribute my time and energy to making Banyan an even more wonderful place for our Bobcats!

Emma Roche, Secretary
Banyan has a special place in our family! I have two children at Banyan, one in Kindergarten and one in 3rd grade, along with a 2-year-old keeping me busy at home. I’m the Executive & Artistic Director of Los Robles Children’s Choir and joined the PTA as a way to be more connected to the school and involved in the Banyan community. We love being part of this school, and our connection actually goes back a generation. My husband attended Banyan when they were still the Bulldogs! I’m looking forward to being more involved and helping make this a great year for our students and staff.

Jorjana Jackson, Treasurer
I have three kids, 2 at Banyan (a 3rd grader, a TK kiddo), and a 6th grader. This is my second year serving on the PTA as treasurer. I also work at Banyan as a para, so I get to see firsthand the many benefits the PTA provides, not only as an employee, but also as a parent. I’m excited to give back to our amazing school community and help support the programs and experiences that make Banyan such a special place for our kids.

Valerie Nabonne, Auditor
I’ve been on the Banyan PTA board for four years. I have two kids here, one in 5th grade and one in 4th. I love being involved in our school community. Outside of PTA, I work in the insurance business, supporting local families and businesses with my services for over 17 years. Giving back is important to me, and PTA is just one of the many ways I’m able to support our school, students, and teachers.

Katie Janousek, Financial Secretary
Banyan has been part of my story for more than 30 years, and now I get to experience it all over again through my kids! Emily is in 4th grade, Ben is in 2nd grade, and Will is in preschool. Outside of being a mom, I’ve worked as a paralegal for the Department of the Treasury for the past 20 years. I joined the PTA because I want my kids to have the same kind of memorable Banyan experience I had as a student. Some of my favorite memories are the carnivals, dances, and bingo nights, and I love getting to help create those same special memories for today’s Bobcats!
