PTA-Funded Programs
At Banyan, the PTA is proud to fund programs that go beyond the traditional classroom experience giving students opportunities to explore their creativity, discover new talents, and build lifelong skills. These programs are only possible thanks to the generosity of our families and community.
Art of the Masters
Art of the Masters brings art history to life in our classrooms. Once a month, an art instructor teaches parent volunteers about a specific artist and an art project inspired by their work. Those volunteers then share the lesson with their child’s class. All supplies are provided by the PTA, and parents can sign up directly with their teacher to be their class’s “art person.” This hands-on program sparks creativity, builds confidence, and connects students to the world of art.
Assemblies
Assemblies are an exciting way to bring unique, enriching experiences right to our campus. They expose students to new ideas, talents, and perspectives in a fun and memorable way. This year, we’ll welcome the BMX Assembly and the Animal Assembly which are both designed to inspire, entertain, and educate our kids.
Field Trips
Field trips extend learning beyond the classroom walls, giving students real-world experiences that connect directly to the units they’re studying. From museums to outdoor adventures, these trips deepen understanding and create lasting memories. While field trips are organized by each grade level, they are fully funded by the PTA, ensuring every student has the opportunity to participate.
Maker Space
Maker Space is a creative haven for students during recess. Here, they can invent, build, and explore using a variety of materials letting their imagination guide them. Whether they’re constructing, crafting, or experimenting, students are encouraged to think outside the box. The PTA provides all supplies, so the possibilities are endless.
Music
Music education is an important part of a well-rounded education, and thanks to PTA funding, every Banyan student has the opportunity to participate. In some grade levels, music teachers visit the classroom; in others, students attend a dedicated music class once a week. Music helps students develop rhythm, listening skills, and self-expression.
Physical Education (PE)
PE at Banyan gives students a chance to move, play, and learn teamwork skills twice a week with our wonderful PE teachers. Through games, exercises, and sports, students build healthy habits and learn the value of physical activity all funded by the PTA.
